our roots
A legacy of caring innovation

In 1983, Arkansas businessman Bill Sage invented an electric shopping cart, the Martcart™. What began as a simple way to help his grandmother get around the store became a product that changed how millions shop. From the start, our motivation was clear: we care. We put those two words on every cart – a promise that means freedom for shoppers, relief for caregivers, and smoother operations for retailers.
